Emily Reid Kehe started her first jewelry company on the playground, peddling her handmade earrings at school in the 5th grade. She put away the beads to spend more time honing her kickball skills, but picked them up again recently when she was unable to find unique jewelry that didn't break the bank.
She comes from a long line of artists and jewelry designers. Strand, her Boston-based jewelry company, was born from her love of collecting and re-inventing the vintage treasures she tracks down at flea markets and antique fairs.
When she's not stringing together jewelry, she works as an assistant art director for a magazine. She also designs a line of kids t-shirts for a small company in NYC.
Emily creates her jewelry from her home...usually while sitting on the couch with her spoiled dogs Stella and Rizzo. Every piece is lovingly handmade and is one-of-a-kind.
